Amended valuations, as a result of new improvements to a property or settled objections, may not show on our website for up to 3 weeks due to the need to process and verify the data.

The information on this Rates Info site is also available to view at the public access computer in the main foyer of the Christchurch City Council, Civic Offices, 163 Tuam Street, Christchurch during opening hours.

The Act applies to the Christchurch City Council in its role as an agency. In compliance with The Act, the Christchurch City Council holds certain information about rate payers and residents of Christchurch City. This information is required for lawful purposes used in the functioning of the Christchurch City Council and this information is sourced in accordance with Principle 2 of The Act.

Access requests
You may make a request to the Christchurch City Council either orally or in writing, for access to personal information (ie personal information about yourself) held by Christchurch City Council. The Christchurch City Council must make a decision on your request and notify you of the decision as soon as practicable - and in any case not later than 20 working days after receiving your request. Christchurch City Council may, in certain circumstances, extend the time limit by notice to you.
